Referring physicians
About 25% of our patients are referred to us from other physicians. Of these, the majority are referred by podiatrists. Besides podiatrist, referrals come from internal medicine doctors, orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, neurologists, physical therapists, and pain management doctors.
The remaining 75% of our patients come from Internet research, often after they have failed treatments with other doctors.
Referring podiatrists
The majority of neuroma patients see podiatrists in order to alleviate their symptoms. When the usual non-surgical treatments fail, many podiatrist recommend open neuroma surgery. Unfortunately, they do not perform minimally invasive procedures as we have described on this site.
When conservative measures fail, and even open surgery fails, many podiatrists refer their patients to us for advanced care for recalcitrant neuroma pain.
Referring non-podiatrist physicians
Many physicians can make the diagnosis of neuroma but choose not to perform neuroma treatments. Primary care physicians and physicians of multiple specialties choose to send their neuroma patients to us for our advanced, expert care. These include: internal medicine doctors, orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, neurologists, physical therapists, and pain management doctors, and others.
