Referring podiatrists for neuroma treatment
Many of our physician referrals come from other podiatrists. Virtually all podiatrists are capable, knowledgeable, and able to treat neuroma pain. When conservative measures fail, most podiatrists will then perform more invasive procedures for neuroma. This may include nerve decompression and neurectomy surgery.
When surgery for neuroma fails to alleviate the pain, they then refer their patients to us. Some podiatrists even refer to us prior to performing surgery as they do perform minimally invasive procedures, or prefer not to do open neuroma surgery.
We refer patients back to their podiatrists
We always assure our referring podiatrists that it is not our intent to “steal” their patients. We have many podiatrists that refer to us in order to perform minimally invasive procedures such as radiofrequency ablation procedures. We have an agreement with these doctors to always refer their patients back after our treatment is complete.
If radiofrequency ablation procedures are successful, we then refer the patient back to the referring podiatrists upon completion of our treatment.
If radiofrequency ablation procedures fail, some of the podiatrists prefer that we send the patient back to them to perform open surgery, rather than doing it ourselves. We always comply with the wishes of our referring doctors.
